| I think my favorite show on the air these days has to be "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Whenever I tell anyone this they instantly assume that I must be joking. I think they react that way because of the title of the show or perhaps they remember the less than stellar movie of the same name. I usually pause a moment and let the person know that first, I'm serious and second, that I like it so much because of its sharp writing. This television show bears little resemblance to its theatrical predecessor, at least in my opinion.
The creator of the show, Joss Whedon, has been able to tap into something about adolesence and how difficult high school can really be. In reality I probably simply admire the small but loyal group that Buffy is a part of. |
