Gen 13

Below are the Gen13 kids. They appear regularly in the Gen13 comic book. It's a new discovery of mine. There's something about the book that interests me. Perhaps it's the way that the stories aren't simply about super heroes fighting super villains, but that these super heroes are young people who don't even know who they are let alone how to handle their newfound abilities. Perhaps it's Caitlin (center, in green) who is the intelligent coed who is forced to hold the group together as its leader. Maybe it's Roxy (left, in purple) who's only 17 and a typical Gen-X whiner. Or it could be Rainmaker (to Caitlin's left in green and red) who is the first lesbian main character in a comic (to my knowledge anyway). Naw, I think it's simply the artwork that I like.

Danger Girl

The main artist from Gen 13, J. Scott Campbell, left the series quite a while ago to start his own comic. It's Danger Girl. Unfortunately, he's been very slow at getting new issues out. Check out the www.dangergirl.com web site.

Comic Conventions

From time to time some friends and I will attend comic book conventions. Usually we go to the Motor City ComiCon in Novi but recently my friend, Jeff, and I went to the larger Wizard World 2000 in Chicago.
